FILTRATION IN EVERY INDUSTRY

In almost any industry imaginable, filtration is going to be used. It is used in manufacturing of many products that find their way into our homes as well as in the operation of many large-scale farms. Of course, the type of filter that is used is going to vary, depending upon the job that is being done. For example, basic membrane filtration is used in many environmental applications, such as recovery of spent cleaning solutions, filtration of dairy and food plant waste and for filtering potato flume water. It also has many chemical applications, such as the filtration for the concentration of pigments and is used for various wastewater applications. Nanofiltration is also a type of membrane filtration which is a newcomer onto the scene. It can help to filter various organic matter as well as synthetic matter effectively. It is commonly used in water purification applications and providing clean drinking water for those in developing countries. It is also used for desalination to provide clean drinking water in countries such as South Africa.

Another type of filtration that is available is the anode cell. These are commonly used in the automobile industry for cleaning the paint tank before painting the automobiles. One of the functions of this type of filtration is to remove the acid that may be generated during electrolysis. This will allow the chemistry of the paint tank to remain stable and will provide a better product for the end-user. There are many other types of filters that are available, many of which help to enhance our lives in numerous ways. (Source: Sulfate Removal by Synder)
